The Cabinet

Art, objects and stories

The Cabinet is a cabinet of curiosities for artwork, books, essays, found objects and creative notes by Eiain Lennon.

Like the curiosity cabinets found in museums, this is a place for gathered things: finished pieces, fragments, experiments, materials, stories and the questions that sit beside them. It brings my art, writing and made objects together as one evolving collection.

I’m an artist, maker and writer based in Ainsdale Village. My work moves between drawing, painting, three-dimensional art, pyrography, found objects and the written word, held together by curiosity, craft and a fascination with the forms found in nature.

Essays and notes on quiet, making, attention, nature, materials and the ideas that gather around a creative life.

Books & Writing

Published poetry, a children’s adventure, practical chicken-keeping guidance and new writing projects as they develop.

Beauty, form and the handmade

I am drawn to natural lines and forms, to the discipline of Bauhaus, the emotional colour of Mark Rothko and the Arts and Crafts belief that making things well has value. The Cabinet gives that wide-ranging practice a home.
